The Women In Military Service For America Memorial

The Women In Military Service For America Memorial is located at the Ceremonial Entrance to Arlington National Cemetery and honors all women who have served in the Armed Forces. Planning for the memorial began in 1985, with the groundbreaking occurring 10 years later in 1995. The memorial was dedicated and opened to the public in 1997. Inside is a museum area featuring exhibits on women in the military and military history, an education center and a small theater.

Mom is registered there for her service with the WAVES (Women Accepted For Volunteer Emergency Service) from 1943-1945.
