Orange is the easternmost city in Texas and lies on the Sabine River which marks the border of the state of Louisiana. Orange is a deep water port to the Gulf of Mexico. The city experienced rapid growth in the late 1800's due to the lumber industry. The Stark-Lutcher family featured prominently in the history of the city.
