Kansas City is the home of the American Jazz Museum which is located in the historic 18th and Vine area in a building also housing the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. The museum features exhibits on Charlie Parker, Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington and includes a saxophone owned by Mr. Parker. The Blue Room is a fully functioning jazz club on site and the historic Gem Theater is located across the street.
