Today I went to Johnson County Community College (JCCC) for a free noon jazz concert. These noon concerts are part of the JCCC Jazz Series at the Carlsen Center Recital Hall.
Today's jazz group was the Rob Whitsitt Quartet. Rob, on guitar, had played with Frank Sinatra, and toured with the great George Shearing. Joining Rob was Roger Wilder on piano, Greg Whitfield on bass, and Don Van Fleet on drums. Interestingly, I had just seen Don at Jardine's last week with Steve Gray (see previous post).
