Every Sunday from 11:30 PM to 1:00 AM Kansas City's blues, jazz, and comedy jam takes place at the 12th Street Rag lounge in the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. The show is broadcast live on 89.3 FM (WKUR). Hosted by Pete Weber and Pearl McDonald, and joined by vocalists Nedra Dixon and David Basse, Sunday's show paid tribute to the great Herbie Hancock. Musical director and pianist Joe Cartwright was joined by bassist Tyrone Clark, drummer Mike Warren, and special guest keyboardist Ken Lovern. Many of Hancock's popular compositions were played by the terrific band.
