In 1898 Dr. James Naismith brought basketball to the University of Kansas. His 2 typed pages with the 13 rules of the game were "hung in the gym that the boys might learn the rules."
David Booth and Suzanne Deal Booth purchased the Original Rules of Basket Ball (for a reputed $4M) in December 2010. Thanks to them, the public has been give a rare opportunity to view the rules at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
