Saturday evening I took the subway from Christopher to 72nd Street and Broadway. One half block west is the restaurant Sugar Bar, owned by Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson, a husband and wife songwriting/production team and recording artists, best known for their Motown hits Ain't No Mountain High Enough, You're All I Need To Get By and Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing. The Sugar Bar is best known for its sensational cuisine and live entertainment.

Playing Saturday night was the Paul Peress Project. Paul, a drummer (finally!), was joined by Clifford Carter on keyboard, Anthony Jackson on bass and the great Jeff Golub on guitar.
