As an early kick-off to the Undead Jazz Fest last weekend, the famous Blue Note Jazz Club, following 2 performances by Dave Brubeck, welcomed Nacht Musik, a quartet consisting of pianist Jason Lindner, drummer Kim Thompson, trumpeter Avishai Cohen and bassist Tim Lefebvre.
Pianist, composer, multi-keyboardist, band leader and arranger, Jason Lindner began his formal piano studies at age 7, followed by guitar, flute, drums, saxophone and bass. During his musical career, he has shared the stage or studio with numerous incredible artists including Dianne Reeves, Lauren Hill, Chick Corea, Roy Haynes, Christian McBride, Roy Hargrove, Brandon Marsalis, Elvin Jones and Lionel Loueke.
Kim Thompson was born in LA and raised in St. Louis. She has played with Mike Stern, Kenny Baron, Stefon Harris, Jacky Terrason, Tia Fuller and Bobby Watson. Recently, she was signed for Beyonce's latest tour.
Originally from Tel Aviv, Avshai Cohen began performing professionally at age 10, attended Berklee School of Music and placed 3rd in the TS Monk International Trumpet Jazz Competition.
Tim Lefebvre has made appearances in Saturday Night Live's house band and has numerous musical movie/TV credits including The Departed, Oceans 12 & 13, the Sopranos and 30 Rock. Tim has played with Jamie Cullum, the O'Jays, Rudder, Uri Caine Bedrock, Oz Noy, James Taylor, Josh Groban and Jon Bon Jovi.
