The Pyramid Arena is a 20,142 seat venue in downtown Memphis located on the banks of the Mississippi River. Built in 1991 its unique structure plays on city's namesake in Egypt known for its ancient pyramids. It is 32 stories tall and is the 6th largest pyramid in the world. It was once the home of the NBA Memphis Grizzlies and the University of Memphis men's basketball team. It has not been used since 2004 when the Grizzlies left for the newly built FedEx Forum.
Bass Pro Shops has recently taken a 55 year lease on the building with plans to make it into the largest Bass Pro Shop in the world.
