In the pine flatwoods, large open pine forests once covering much of Florida, and kept open by periodic natural fires, are found slash pine, sabal pine, saw palmetto, wax myrtle, yellow batchelor's button, star-topped sedge, and yellow-eyed grass.
In the wet prairie you see sand cordgrass, St. John's-wort, buttonbush, blue flag iris, and water dropwort.
In the cypress forest you'll find pond cypress, bald cypress, red maple, pond apple, strangler fig, air plants, Spanish moss, alligator flag, swamp lily, water lettuce, swamp fern, inland leather fern, royal fern, Boston fern, strap fern, resurrection fern, water fern, lichens, and old man's beard lichen.
In the marsh you'll find sawgrass, pickerelweed, broad-leaved arrowhead, swamp hibiscus, and coastal plain willow.
