Long on my to do list since I got here, I drove to Fort Myers this morning for the jazz brunch at the Edison.
On May 8, 2008, The Edison opened its doors and quickly became a fixture in the Fort Myers dining and nightlife. Located on historic McGregor Boulevard, just a mile south of the world famous Edison and Ford Winter Estates, the Edison is a tribute to one of Fort Myers 's most favored past residents.
Performing was Danny Sinoff, a 27 year old Berklee educated pianist and Jay Heavilin on bass. Danny has been honing his craft by singing and playing jazz every night since his return to Florida in 2001. His stylistic influences range from Frank Sinatra and Harry Connick, Jr. to Keith Jarrett and Wynton Kelly. Danny has performed with David "Fathead" Newman, Jimmy McGriff and the Brubeck Brothers Quartet.
