Birds: anhinga, little blue heron, great egret, black-crowned night heron, green heron, American bittern, wood stork (the only stork that nests in the United States), limpkin (a secretive resident of South Florida, and a treat to find), white ibis, swallow-tailed kite, red-shouldered hawk, turkey vulture, black vulture, barred owl, pileated woodpecker, red-bellied woodpecker, great-crested flycatcher, Eastern phoebe, Caroline wren, blue-gray gnatcatcher, gray catbird, white-eyed vireo, Northern parula warbler, pine warbler, common yellowthroat, and Northern cardinal
Reptiles and Amphibians: American alligator, Florida redbelly turtle, brown anole, green anole, Southeastern five-lined skink, dusky-pygmy rattlesnake, green tree frog, and pig frog
