Leaving the View Restaurant at the Marriott Marquis, I walked up a couple blocks to 1619 Broadway to see the Brill Building. This is where Neil Sedaka, Burt Bacharach, Carole King, Hal David, Neil Diamond, Gerry Goffin, Elli Greenwich, Jerry Leiber, Mike Stoller and many other writers turned out hundred of hit songs. Their style defined the influential Brill Building Sound and the style of popular music songwriting and recording created by its writers and producers.
