After the Blue Note, I took the subway uptown to Jazz at Lincoln Center to see the Bill Charlap Trio. Mr. Charlap is a jazz pianist who comes from a musical background. He has worked with Gerry Mulligan, Benny Carter and Tony Bennett. Appearing with Mr. Charlap was bassist Peter Washington and drummer Kenny Washington. Dizzy's is a beautiful venue with floor to ceiling windows behind the bandstand overlooking Columbus Circle.
