Every time I drive to Jardine's or to the Plaza, I pass this park. I always want to stop, but I never do. So last Sunday on my way to Crown Center to see The Wiz, I finally did.
Kansas City was the main outfitting point for the Sante Fe and Oregon Trails. The first emigrant wagon train bound for the Pacific shores departed in 1841. The Santa Fe Trail was designated by Congress as a National Historic Trail in 1987.
