Tonight after listening to Mark Lowrey solo at Jardine's, I enjoyed a production of The Who's Tommy by the Metropolitan Ensemble Theater Company on Main Street in KCMO.
Written by Pete Townshend and Des McAnuff, Tommy is the story of a "deaf, dumb, and blind boy" who becomes the leader of a messianic movement. The album placed 96th on Rolling Stone Magazines best albums of all time.
Katie Gilchrist starred as Mrs. Walker and Samm Wright portrayed Tommy. Songs included See Me, Feel Me, Acid Queen, Pinball Wizard, Tommy Can You Hear Me, I'm Free, and We're Not Gonna Take It.
