The Accidental Waiter - Lidia's Brunch Theater

This afternoon I enjoyed a fabulous brunch at Lidia's Italian restaurant and then stepped upstairs for the theater presentation of the Accidental Waiter.

This physical comedy, created by Alex Espy, Matt Weiss, Marty Honig, and Alan Tilson, was a loving nod to the roaring 20's silent movies. A lonely traveler stepped out of Union Station and into Lidia's and then became a waiter and the restaurant's worst nightmare. From high-strung managers to surly little sailors, the Accidental Waiter served up a main dish of ingenuity and charm.

Equally impressive was the improvisational score performed by Kansas City pianist, the talented Mark Lowrey.

This link tells of Lidia's restaurant history and a summary of the Accidental Waiter production.
