On my "back roads" way home from Havre De Grace a couple weeks ago, I passed Marshy Point Park and Nature Center. Last week I took a trip there to explore.
Marshy Point is Baltimore County's pristine waterfront nature center on Chesapeake Bay and is part of the U. S. National Park Service's Chesapeake Gateways Network. Marshy Point is nearly 500 acres in size, and when combined with neighboring county, state and federal land, encompasses over 3,000 acres. The Nature Center includes an exhibit hall, auditorium and classrooms. Outdoor facilities include a butterfly garden, trails, overlooks, and a canoe dock. The park welcomes hikers, birdwatchers and nature-lovers of all types.
