Thursday morning I walked to the subway and headed north to 50th Street, taking a short walk to 5th Avenue to see the Christmas tree. This year's tree, a 74 foot Norway Spruce, was brought to Rockefeller Center November 11. A giant crane hoisted it into position in front of 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Scaffolding was erected around it and 30,000 multi-colored energy efficient LED lights over 5 miles of wire were strung on it. It was topped by a Swarovski star. That magnificent star deserves its own post.
