Nature of Cape Coral bus tour

I left early this morning for a 4 hour bus tour of the Cape Coral area, hoping to spot burrowing owls, meadowlarks, eagles, manatees and scrub jays. Success on all counts!

Just a few blocks north in a neighborhood pine tree is an eagle's nest, with 2 parents and a chick. I also found out where to see the elusive burrowing owl. Apparently in some areas, the owl sits out on its perch all day long. I previously drove 30 miles north to Manatee Park to see the gentle sea cows when there are many right up the road about 2 miles.

The burrowing owl and scrub jays are getting their own blog posts.
