My second stop was Hale, where I previously owned a home on 30 wooded acres. I spent the next 4 days at my friend and former neighbor's home in the middle of 240 acres, hiking, riding ATVs, feeding deer, re-exploring the old neighborhood and visiting friends.
Hale is located in Michigan's "6o Lakes" region and offers boating, fishing, water skiing, hiking, and snowmobiling to thousands of summer and winter tourists.
I didn't know this until I visited Hale's website, but apparently Uncle Kracker's video Smile was filmed in Hale.
