Before boarding the Megabus (31st Street and 8th Avenue) I walked through Madison Square Garden, located beside the bus stop. Known as "The Garden" or "MSG" the arena was opened February 14, 1968. It is the home to the New York Rangers (NHL), the New York Knicks (NBA) and the New York Liberty (WNBA). MSG also holds concerts and other events and Elton John holds the record for performing 53 times there. The Garden is set to undergo a major renovation after the 2010-11 hockey season.
