Loch Raven Dam is on the Gunpowder River in Baltimore county and is used for drinking water and recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1923 and modified in 1986. This gravity dam is 101 feet high and 623 feet long. It discharges 27,000 cubic feet of water per second and drains an area of 303 square miles.
