Today was a long but extremely enjoyable day. Linda and I started out around 11 and drove south down Perring Parkway all the way to Fells Point, close to the Inner Harbor of downtown Baltimore. We searched for a parking space and ended up shelling out $20 for a spot 3 blocks from the Festival.
There were hundreds of art and food booths, selling everything from jewelry to mozzarella filled corn pancakes. We walked down a number of blocks taking in the sights, sounds and smells of the festival.
We then boarded a $9 water taxi and motored to the Inner Harbor, disembarking at the Baltimore Science Center. This was the perfect spot for photos across the harbor of the skyline. We then walked all around the Inner Harbor area, viewing the USS Constellation, the National Aquarium, the Baltimore World Trade Center Building and hundreds of sailboats moored in the harbor, including a boat from New Zealand!
After a few hours of walking and sightseeing, we rode the water taxi back to Fells Point and had crab dip and scallops at John Steven Ltd. Five Points Tavern. We then dragged ourselves back to the car, drove a bit around the streets of downtown Baltimore and wound our way home via Charles Street to 33rd Street, home of Johns Hopkins University, to Perring Parkway.
